Events and Exhibitions

Here is a listing of events and exhibitions where you can see bronze sculptures by Vanessa Pooley.

Events and Exhibitions 2010

Landmark
Thu 6th August to Sun 8th August, 2010

As promised, another exciting exhibition of contemporary art by Norfolk artists organised by the North Norfolk Exhibition Project in the iconic Salthouse Church on the North Norfolk coast.

The exhibition is open every day (and a couple of evenings).

For this exhibition I plan to show a trio of angels, including Eco-Angel, These angels will be placed quietly in niches on the wall. One angel is praying, one trying to communicate to us, and one warning of the dangers the Earth faces.

Launched in 2008, the Salthouse Sculpture Trail followed further success in 2009.

Venue Salthouse Church
Times 10am-5:30pm daily

Spring Exhibition with the Norwich Twenty Group
11– 21 May, 2010

The idea behind this spring’s exhibition is to give members within the 20 group an opportunity to collaborate in pairs. For this show I am collaborating with the artist Andrew Schumann.

I have made a small stubby angel with its arms/wings aloft. It will stand in front of Andrew’s exquisitely simple relief of flat, blue, circular forms. 'Quantum Field 4’ (a piece made of painted MDF in oak frame).

Talk: Royal British Society of Sculptors
22 November 2006
Last of current series of talks "18@ 108 – Sculptors on Sculpture" on the way sculptors work today, in which artists of diverse approach, inspiration and origin share what it’s like to work in stone, installation and bronze.

Featuring Vanessa Pooley, who uses bronze to create timeless curvaceous female figures that highlight the intimacy and humour within human relationships. Vanessa will be talking with two other sculptors, Giles Penny, known for his abstracted, humorous and almost graphic creations, and Japanese artist Nobuo Hase, whose bronze forms attempt to bridge the cultural and perceptual gap between the artist and viewer in search of common associations.

Venue 108 Old Brompton Road, London SW7 3RA

Admission Free
Tel +44 (0)20 7373 8615
